The project aims to raise awareness of stakeholders through exposure to monitoring results via relevant page entitled "2012 Parliamentary elections: Voting numbers-based analytic calculation" on TIAC website and mass media; presentation and dissemination of project findings; draft recommendations for improvement of legislation, procedures and enforcement related to elections in Armenia. These recommendations are promoted through advocacy and lobbying efforts, conducted by TIAC in possible cooperation with its partner NGOs, as well as other interested parties.

Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center (TIAC) and Expert-analyst Ludwig Khachatryan presented the results of "Electronic Monitoring of 2012 Parliamentary Elections in Armenia" project, supported by Open Society Foundations - Armenia. TIAC also presented summarized findings of another election-related project implemented by the organization, namely the monitoring of the parliamentary elections campaign finance and misuse of administrative resources of the parties (blocs), which participated at the proportional list vote of National Assembly 2012 elections and came up with recommendations.

Civil society is monitoring elections

Sona Ayvazyan, Chair and Varuzhan Hoktanyan, Executive Director of Transparency International Anti-corruption Center participated in "Civil Society and Parliamentary Elections 2012" public presentation of electoral projects, which was held in Congress Hotel on April 11, 2012. Hosted by Partnership for Open Society initiative, the event brought together civil society organizations to present various monitoring initiatives, the main purpose of which is to monitor elections.
